Donegal man explains why the county voted NO; gets major praise on Twitter

Yesterday, Ireland officially voted to repeal the eighth amendment of the constitution, with a landslide victory by the ‘Yes’ side.

66.4 percent of people voted ‘Yes’ to repeal the eighth amendment, with 33.6 percent voting ‘No’ to retain the amendment.

Donegal was the sole county with a majority ‘No’ vote. 51.9 percent voted ‘No’ while the 48.1 percent remaining voted ‘Yes’. Only 57 percent of the county turned up to vote.

However, one Donegal man has taken to Twitter after many people questioned the county for it’s vote to explain why the county was so short on ‘Yes’ votes.
