Apparently You Should Never Pop a Pimple and Here is Why

Fight the urge to pop

More than 80% of people between the ages of 11-30 report suffering from pimple breakouts.

They are pesky little things and can be extremely infuriating.

According to the Irish Skin Foundation, Acne can develop for the first time in people in their late twenties or even the thirties. It also occasionally occurs in young children as blackheads and/or pustules on the cheeks or nose.

Naturally when a white head appears, the reaction is to pop the bitch but alas, it seems that’s simply winning the battle and not the war.

Business Insider has put together this informative video on why you should fight every pimple popping urge and leave the little things alone.

“Squeezing it can result in these contents being pushed into surrounding skin, making the problem worse,” says Michelle Rodrigues, consultant dermatologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.

The video explains that it’s much more beneficial in the long run to allow the pimple to reduce itself. Popping the spot and releasing potential infection will only prolong irritation of the skin and further clog pores.
