The controversial Church of Scientology is set to make a documentary about Louis Theroux.
Confirming the news on Twitter, the infamous documentary maker himself confirmed he was the new subject of the church’s documentary:
Just been informed by Scientology lawyers that Scientology is working on a documentary about me. Little bit excited; little bit nervous.

It’s believed the church made the call in response to an upcoming BBC special Theroux has been filming on Scientology, Stairway To Heaven.
Theroux revealed the ‘exciting’ but ‘nervous’ news on Twitter yesterday evening. Theroux used the same social network earlier this year to recruit people who have had personal experiences with Scientology to speak to him ahead of filming.
This is the second time the Church of Scientology has retaliated to media scrutiny from the BBC, having previously released footage of presenter John Sweeney screaming at one of their representatives in 2007. Sweeney had been filming an investigative piece into Scientology and its practices.
