Negotiating those conflicting desires is par for the course in any relationship – but sometimes it can really force other potential underlying tensions to the fore.
Such seems to be the case with Jennifer Lopez, and her recent split from her dancer boyfriend of five years, Casper Smart.

Tabloid reports in the US reveal that the couple fell out because Casper wouldn’t cancel his plans to attend UFC202 with his friends in order to accompany Jennifer to a charity event.
TMZ alleges that “it was super important” for Casper to be on Jen’s arm at a Hamptons fundraiser last Saturday night benefiting a New York theatre.
But Casper chose to go to Vegas to see the Conor McGregor/Nate Diaz fight instead.

The gossip site added that, although Casper reportedly offered to come to J Lo’s side the next day, she was “enraged and ended the relationship…no discussion. Simply, we’re done”.
Casper is well-known lover of UFC, and was snapped meeting McGregor just last month.

That was around the same time that he wrote this gushing birthday message to “the light of my life”.

The pair are apparently still broken up, and have responded to the split in their own ways.
Casper is taking a break from social media to “focus on personal connections over a type and text existence”.
