Drops mic... walks away.

And just like that… we’re in love with Daniel Radcliffe.

The Harry Potter star has worked hard to shed the shackles of being permanently attached to the boy wizard character who made him famous, but it’s proving more difficult for him than it is for one of his famous co-stars, a fact he pointed out in show-stopping fashion in a recent interview.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Radcliffe admitted that he was frustrated to be referred to by the media as an ‘unconventional’ romantic hero.

He said: “Around the time of rom com What If coming out, a lot of people were saying: ‘You’re really an unconventional romantic lead.’ And so eventually I got bored of hearing that and kind of picked someone up on it, so I was like ‘What about me is unconventional, exactly? Like, tell me.’

“And she said, ‘well, I think it’s probably the fact that you know, we associated you with playing Harry, the young boy wizard.’

“My immediate response to that was: ‘Well, the male population had no problem sexualising Emma Watson immediately.’”

The interview was carried out ahead of the release of Radcliffe’s new movie Horns.

Due in cinemas this weekend, Horns is a big screen adaptation of the novel by Joe Hill.

The thriller sees Daniel play Ig Perrish, who awakens hungover from a night of hard drinking only to find horns starting to grow from his own head and discover that he has the power to make people confess their sins and give in to their darkest desires.
