Jameela Jamil destroyed a post about body shaming women and we are here for it

Jade Hayden

Get it, Jameela.

If there’s one thing nobody can be dealing with anymore, it’s body shaming women.

Whether it’s pointing out somebody’s back rolls, or laughing that their clothes might be a bit too tight, or suggesting that they wear something that might better ‘flatter’ their shape (no thank you), it’s not cool and we’re very over it.

Another person who’s very over it is actress and presenter Jameela Jamil.

The The Good Place star recently came across an Instagram post featuring a picture of the Kardashians and their (supposed) individual weights.

One might suggest that a post such as this is simply informative and not harmful, but looking at it, it’s clearly only up there to pit women against each other, define them by their size, and to make other people who may weight a bit more feel bad about themselves.

And at the end of the day, why does anyone really need to know exactly how many kilograms Kourtney is anyway?

Jameela felt the same way so she decided to do a little post herself about why is literally doesn’t matter how much you weight.

First, she gave out a bit about the original post.

Standard.

Then, she shared her own post detailing exactly what she measures herself in – not kilograms, but how happy she is, and how much she loves her job, and how she’s got lovely friends, etc.

You know, things that matter a lot.

Jameela also included a little nod to her “bingo wings” that she likes and the fact that she speaks out for women’s rights.

All admirable traits in a person, we must say.

People then began replying to Jameela’s post with their own lists of things they valued themselves for.

God bless you, Jameela Jamil.
