Kate Middleton travelled to this Irish spot when she split from Prince William

Relatable.

In 2007, Kate Middleton and Prince William broke up.

Yep, love briefly died but thankfully only for two months before the pair rekindled the flame and the rest is history.

But, those two months are ones which are still of great discussion. In an interview years later, Will admitted that the breakup was to help them grow separately as people. He explained:

“We were both very young. It was at university, we were sort of both finding ourselves as such and being different characters and stuff, it was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up.”

And although this feels like a very diluted answer of the truth from the future King of England, Kate’s reaction to the breakup was a little bit more relatable in the sense that she basically ran away in order to process what was going on (we’ve all been there).

And so, according to Express, the Duchess of Cambridge fled to Dublin with her mother, Carol Middleton. Kate was spotted in Dublin days after the split, and according to the publication, they visited the National Gallery of Ireland as well as being joined by pals on the trip for a night out on the tiles.

No better way to get over yer man than a boogie with pals eh?

Also speaking about the breakup years later, Kate revealed she never actually wanted to part ways in the first place.

“I think at the time I wasn’t very happy about it, but actually it made me a stronger person. You find out things about yourself that maybe you hadn’t realised, or I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you are younger and I really valued that time for me as well although I didn’t think it at the time.”
