YIKES!

Kian Egan has had his say on the Boyzone/Westlife supergroup known as Boyzlife.

Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden have formed the new band and are taking it on tour. It raised a lot of eyebrows when they announced the news and one person who was particularly confused was Kian.

He spoke to 98FM’s Big Breakfast this morning where he said that their decision to form the group was ‘aggravating’ and ‘unfair on the fans’.

He told Cooper and Luke, “What do I make of it all… good luck to them. It’s a bit of an odd one. You know, a member of Westlife who left the band after four years decides to use half the name for whatever it is that they’re doing. I certainly was scratching my head a bit when I saw it at first, kind of going ‘What? Boyzlife?'”

Talking about how the fans thought it was all of the members back together Kian said, ” it was really aggravating and really unfair on the fans. Everybody thought that Westlife and Boyzone were getting together to do a tour and the name Boyzlife is the reason why. It was a clever marketing ploy I suppose by Brian and Keith.”

He continued, “Personally speaking, I think ,you know, it’s not the right way to do it. And I think it was pretty unfair on the fans to make them think that.

“If Westlife ever got back together again, it would be Westlife. It would be the four guys who stood in Croke Park the day Westlife ended.”
