While fans waited in the venue, they were later asked to hold onto their tickets and to wait for information.
In a statement on their website, Aiken Promotions said:
“The show tonight has been cancelled as Liam has taken ill, and whilst not serious , he is unable to perform tonight.
“Please hold on to your tickets. A further statement will be made in the morning. The band apologise to the fans and wish Liam better.”
It is believed around 30,000 fans in Northern Ireland are expected to attend the three nights of the On The Road Again tour.
Fans were urged not to visit the local hospitals, due to fears of overcrowding and safety precautions.
