It looks like we're getting a Step Brothers SEQUEL, and we're a little excited
Is anyone else totally obsessed with Step Brothers?
Since being released 10 years ago - we know, we almost feel as old as Robert and his liver-spotted hands that he has to keep off Brennan's beautiful mother - Adam McKay's film has become one of - if not THE - most beloved comedy in recent memory.
So naturally, the idea of a sequel to the iconic comedy has us extremely excited.
John C. Reilly, who played Dale Doback, has said that he's down to get a sequel going.
Speaking on Good Morning America, the actor said:
"It requires the cooperation of a few other people but I would love to do another one of those. If possible, yeah."
The film's director Adam McKay is also down for a sequel.
In an interview with CinemaBlend the director said:
"It is very possible in five years, because I don't think the Step Brothers idea gets worse the older these guys get."
"We could all look at each other and go, 'all right, let's go do it.' A while ago I said, 'No way we're doing it.' But I thought about it. I was like, 'Why am I saying that? We definitely could end up doing that.' So who knows?," he said.
In a previous interview with the New York Daily News, Will Ferrell said that ideas for a sequel were already being discussed.
“We talked about Step Brothers and then Adam and I got sidetracked with other things. We had a whole story where John (C. Reilly) and I follow our parents to live in a retirement community and try to convince them that we earned the right to retire as well," he said.
How gas does that sound?
