Madonna has revealed that she used to date rapper Tupac Shakur.
In an interview with Howard Stern, the singer spoke about her 1994 foul-mouthed appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman and blamed it on “feeling gangsta” due to her relationship with the late musician.
“I was mad at [David Letterman] when I said the F-word a lot. I was in a weird mood that day. I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time and the thing is he got me all riled up on life in general. So when I went on the show, I was feeling very gangsta,” she said.
Shakur died in 1996 after being shot in Las Vegas and it had previously been claimed in an unauthorised biography that the pair dated, with Madonna saying this week that she thought it was “public knowledge”.
