How ADORABLE.

BBC Radio 1’s Greg James has announced he is engaged to his long-term girlfriend, Bella, after she proposed earlier this year.

The DJ, who is taking over from Nick Grimshaw on the station’s Breakfast Show, announced the news in a sweet Instagram post.

He thanked Bella for being the reason behind his happiness, as well as her support ahead of this “huge new work challenge”.

He began:

“Oh while we’re doing announcements, here’s something else…I’m having the time of my life and enjoying my work more than ever.

“I feel really content and it’s nice to have my sh*t together before I undertake a huge new work challenge.

“One of the main reasons for this happiness is because I met this person.

“This is Bella and in February she asked me to marry her. I said yes immediately because she is the smartest, funniest and most beautiful person I’ve ever met.

“The only problem is she loves staying up into the early hours drinking as much as I do and this is not conducive with 5am alarms.

“That said, it’s been quite a year.”

It was announced earlier this week that Nick Grimshaw would be stepping down from BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show after six years. It was revealed that he and Greg would be swapping shows.

During his show on May 31, Nick told how it was a “literal dream come true” to come into work every day – but he was ready for a change.

He continued:

“I wanted to do it, and now we do it every day. Not everybody gets to do what they want to do with their lives.

“I’m so grateful for that and I love it. However, I’m really tired. Like, you’ve no idea. Come September, I will have been doing it for six years, and I’ve decided that it’s time for a change.

“It’s going to be time for a new show, and most importantly, time for a new wake-up time. Preferably at 11.30am!”
