It’s official – James Corden has confirmed the news of a standalone Carpool Karaoke show

We’re all massive fans of Carpool Karaoke here in the office, so our ears definitely pricked up when we heard about the rumoured spinoff of the successful Late Late Show segment.

Well, you’ll be delighted to know that James Corden himself has confirmed that the rumours and hearsay are indeed true.

Digital Spy is reporting that Corden will only make occasional appearances on the spinoff, much like fellow late night host Jimmy Fallon does in his show Lip Sync Battle.

In terms of dream guests, Corden has his eye on Beyoncé, Bruno Mars or Kanye West as people who he’d like to ferry around in future.

When asked if he would try his hand at getting Donald Trump on board, Corden was a little more reticent, answering:

“I don’t believe he sings, but we’ve asked him to be a guest on the main show without success several times.”

So he’s no craic, then.

“It’s a difficult show for politicians because we bring all the guests out at the same time – so for them, it’s a much less controllable atmosphere.”

In case you’re interested, the most popular Carpool Karaoke ever is One Direction, and you can watch it below:
