Jay Leno Says Goodbye to The Tonight Show

There was a song from Kim Kardashian and tears from Sandra Bullock.

This week marked the end of an era as Jay Leno waved goodbye to The Tonight Show after 22 years as host.

While it’s not the first time he has walked out the door (he was replaced back in 2009 but had to return after low ratings), chances are it will be his last.

Speaking about it, Leno said: “I don’t like goodbyes – NBC does. I don’t care for them. Tonight is our last show for real. See, I don’t need to be fired three times. I get the hint, I get the hint.”

He wasn’t the only one to get emotional either as actress Sandra Bullock shed a tear during her interview on the show.

No doubt everybody would have been cheered up by this rendition of So Long, Farewell from The Sound Of Music which involved Jack Black and Kim Kardashian.

Leno also talked about his successor Jimmy Fallon. He said: “It’s fun to be the old guy and sit back here and see where the next generation takes this great institution.”

And while we are also looking forward to see what happens next, we’ll never forget the great moments this man has given us over the years.
