Netflix is looking for someone to play Princess Diana in The Crown

Fancy yourself as Princess Diana?

Well, this could be your chance. Netflix is currently looking for a “staggeringly talented actress” to play Princess Diana in the fourth season of The Crown.

According to The Telegraph, producers are looking out for “a mesmerising new young star with extraordinary range” between the ages of 18-22 to take on the role of Diana.

Queen Elizabeth’s eventful trip to Ghana in 1961 took place four years after the Sub-Saharan nation had gained independence.

The third season of The Crown will return this summer, with Olivia Colman playing the Queen, after Claire Foy portrayed her younger years. Meanwhile, Helena Bonham Carter will replace Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret.

Actresses tipped to take on the role of Diana are Les Miserables’ Ellie Bamber, Bohemian Rhapsody’s Lucy Boynton and Little Drummer Girl’s Florence Pugh.

The third season of the Netflix series is said to cover the Apollo 11 moon landing, as well as introduce Charles’s second wife Camilla Parker-Bowles and cover the decolonisation of Africa and the Caribbean as well as the birth of Prince Edward in 1964.
