Riverdale showrunner confirms the Black Hood is going to be coming BACK

Keeley Ryan

Uh oh.

Riverdale’s season two kicked off with the town terrorised by a masked man – who identified himself as the Black Hood – and eventually began targeting ‘sinners’ in the town.

From the end of season one, he shot Fred Andrews, attacked Moose and Midge and was behind the deaths of corrupt teachers Geraldine Grundy and Robert Phillips.

Nobody was safe, essentially.

After nine episodes, the killer was finally unmasked in the second season’s mid-season finale – but there was something about it that just didn’t seem right, to fans and Archie alike.

And now it turns out that the Black Hood will rise once again – according to Riverdale’s executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa himself.

Entertainment Weekly report that he revealed the villain’s impending return at PayleyFest.

He said:

“When we started, we had three likely suspects, so for the first half of the season, we were always dropping red herrings so we could pick [one of the three].

“As we moved into the second half, and we get back to the Black Hood for the last few episodes, we always knew it wasn’t Svenson, [the janitor], but for the last 10 episodes or so, we’ve had a pretty clear idea and have been writing toward that.”

We’ve got so many questions about this supposed new Black Hood.

Are we going to be getting the real reveal this season? Is it Betty’s brother Chic? Is it Hiram?

Who were the other two contenders for Black Hood?  Why was Svenson the decoy? Why did they fake us out like that?

What if it’s someone totally unexpected – like Hermione?

There’s still a few episodes to go until the Riverdale season finale – so only time will tell.
