There’s a major change coming to Electric Picnic in 2018

This sounds brilliant.

Electric Picnic is about to become LONGER than ever before.

Yep, it looks like for the first time ever, Electric Picnic is going to begin entertainment on Thursday night instead of Friday morning.

This new change will provide those early revellers who want to secure the perfect camping spot with plenty of craic to officially kick off their weekend.

The festival announced that an all-female comedy line-up will be kicking things off on the Thursday night. Taking to the Hazel Wood stage over 15 hilarious gals will set the mood for the entire weekend and it sounds feckin’ fantastic.

MC for the night will be the hilarious Joanne McNally, who will be introducing the likes of Aine Gallagher, Aoife Dooley, Ashlee Bentley and Blaithin DeBurca to the stage, to name a few.

Bosses of the festival hope it will “bring more gender balance to the festival”, after they noticed a lack of female comedians on line-ups.

We personally cannot wait to return to Stradbally and craic open the booze that lil bit earlier (any excuse really eh?)
