There’s One Odd and Slight Disturbing Detail We All Missed in The Grinch

Can't unsee.

Cassie Delaney

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a beautiful, albeit, bizarre tale of a little cranky Grinch who hates Whoville and Christmas.

The Grinch arrives at Whoville by mistake and is adopted by two elderly sisters. Ridiculed and bullied in school, The Grinch ran away to live a solitary life. Thwarted in love, he is sad and lonely and ultimately just wants to fit in.

Good girl Cindy Lou is touched by his tough life and decides to invite him to a celebration which he accepts only at the promise of seeing his one true love Martha and upsetting the bully of a Mayor.

It’s touching really.

But what’s that?

During Cindy Lou’s research of The Grinch’s early life, she is cautiously listening to the tale of The Grinch’s arrival in Whoville. As spotted by Buzzfeed, Baby Grinch is witnessing the annual holiday get-together and witnesses A SWINGERS PARTY.

It’s a key party. A big salacious key party. FYI, Urban Dictionary defines a key party is defined as “A couples party where all of the men put their car keys into a bowl or bag and at the end of the party, the women blindly select a set of keys to determine who she goes home with for the rest of the evening for sexual gratification”

We’ll just leave you with that thought.
