Xposé presenter Aisling O’Loughlin has revealed this week that she is struggling to juggle her career and motherhood.

The 37-year-old has two young children with her partner Nick MacInnes, who battled cancer last year.

“There’s always light, no matter what’s going on you just have to look for it,” she told Irish Country magazine.

“Yes, it was a tough year, but I had a new baby and life is good,” she continued. “Nick is delighted to be alive and they’ll have to keep an eye on it but he’s strong.”

The popular presenter is said to be quitting Xposé this year to begin hosting a new show Life alongside Michael Ryan and Sybil Mulcahy.

“I enjoy the kids, I enjoy my job, but there’s none of this work/life balance,” she reflected. “Things change and something has to give.

“It’s a myth that you can have it all, your kids need you all the time.

“There are so many ‘shoulds’ on parents and so many pressures to do this and do that and that the kids have to be in bed by 7pm. It doesn’t always happen like that,” she continued.

“The older I get the more I’m taking life at my own pace and doing the best I can,” she said.

“Everyone is doing the best they can under their own circumstances.”
