You can now head to a load of Irish gigs and events just by tapping a bottle cap

Sounds class enough, in fairness.

A new digital platform has just launched in Ireland, bringing together those among us who enjoy good gigs, good events, and a good bit of whiskey.

This year, the guys over at Jameson are hoping to connect communities, fans, and whiskey drinkers with their new Tap the Cap campaign.

Launched this week in Jameson’s Distillery in Dublin’s Bow Lane, the all new immersive platform is a first of its kind in Ireland, offering customers the chance to tap their bottle cap with their phone to unlock an array of events, gifts, and trips.

These include complimentary tours of both Jameson Distilleries in Dublin and Cork in March, as well as an exclusive gig with The Scratch, Mango X MathMan, and Loah next month.

A decent enough shout just for tapping a bottle cap, tbh.

“Jameson has been connecting people for years and Jameson Connects is the next step in the evolution oour community,” said Fiona Curtin, global communications and planning director for Jameson.

“We want to bring Jameson drinkers together, while supporting some of the phenomenal talents and creatives emerging in Ireland today and we believe this is the perfect platform to do this.”

The new events will be taking place in communities across the country from this month, with additional experiences expected to be added as time goes on.

You can find out more about Jameson’s Tap the Cap feature here.

NFC enabled devices include Androids from 2017 and later and iPhone XS or later. Earlier devices can read the cap via third party apps.
