Beer bread is a thing – and it is actually ridiculously tasty

Beer bread

Who knew?

Looking for an easy homemade bread recipe to test out?

Say hello to beer bread.

And if you have never baked with beer before, I am here to tell you bread-baking doesn’t get any easier than this.

All you need is the basic baking ingredients of flour, baking powder, salt – then beer – and a dash of honey – for a bit of sweetness.

The beer works as the rising agent, meaning no yeast is needed for this recipe either.

The best bit? This could not be easier to get right. Just mix the ingredients, bake for an hour – and voila – you’ll have the most delicious, buttery, cosy and comforting bread ready to tuck into.

There are tons of different recipes to pick from, and beer bread is also super-easy to customise with herbs, spices or even a handful of shredded cheese, if you would like (and let’s face it, why wouldn’t you?)

I came across this beautifully simple recipe over at Cravinghomecooked.com – and despite never being a fan of drinking beer, let me assure you, after testing this recipe, I now will forevermore keep on baking with it.

Fancy trying it for yourself?
