Belfast spot named restaurant of the year and the menu looks unreal

Sounds class.

If you are a human being, chances are you enjoy heading out for a bite to eat every now and then.

It’s fun, it’s social, it gets you out of the gaff for a minimum of an hour, the food is generally decent enough and you don’t have to hover over the cooker making a meal for yourself.

Decent enough shout.

If you’re a bit sick of all the usual spots to head out for a bite or two though, you might want to check out who came out on top at this year’s Food & Wine Awards because there’s some absolute bangers on that list.

Most notably the place that secured Restaurant Of The Year because it sounds divine.

Belfast’s Ox, located on Oxford street, took home the top prize this year, after beating the likes of Dublin’s Chapter One and Belfast’s Deanes Eipic.

And to be honest, we can see why.

Ox’s menu boasts things like rump of rose veal, courgette with ink and sea herbs, and hops ice cream – and that’s just the lunch menu.

The Food & Wine Awards took place last night in Dublin’s The InterContinental Hotel.

The event also saw Andy McFadden of Dublin’s Glovers Alley walk away with the title of Chef Of The Year, with Danni Barry and Noel McMeel receiving highly commended and commended awards respectively.
