Birds Eye confirms that you can cook its waffles in the toaster

The company has added the cooking information to its boxes.

Birds Eye has confirmed that its potato waffles can be cooked in a toaster after the company said it carried out “rigorous” testing on the method.

This might not be new information for many of you, who probably already used a toaster to cook them, but it is the first time the company has officially endorsed the cooking method.

Birds Eye said the new cooking method has been added to the waffle boxes so people will know it’s safe in the future.

Steve Challouma, Marketing Director at Birds Eye, told Delish: “We know there has been a lot of confusion and debate on this way of cooking our Original Potato Waffles so we decided to put it to the test.

“After days of rigorous ‘toasting’, we’re happy to confirm it is safe to cook our waffles this way and it doesn’t compromise on taste either – you can still expect the same delicious taste that is crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle!”

If toasting your waffles, customers are advised to put their toasters on medium/high and give the waffles two runs in the toaster.
