Birds Eye have recalled a chicken nuggets product over fear of the presence of plastic.

A batch of the brand’s 50 Chicken Nuggets with Golden Wholegrain were recalled today as they may contain small pieces of plastic.

The presence of this plastic could make the product unsafe to eat.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued a statement today, saying:

“Birds Eye is recalling the above batch of its 50 Chicken Nuggets with Golden Wholegrain because it may contain small pieces of plastic.

“The presence of plastic may make this product unsafe to eat. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in affected retail store(s) that are selling this product. No other batch codes or Birds Eye products are known to be affected.”

The affected batch of nuggets includes batch code: L9208 Z V124 and a ‘best-before’ date of October 2020.
