Three festive cocktail recipes to make for a holly jolly holiday season

'Tis the season to be merry.

There's no better time than Christmas to get creative in the kitchen.

Whether you're throwing a lavish dinner party, a laid back brunch or simply are just curled up and relaxing by the fire, there's plenty of inspiring (and tasty) ways to mix it up.

We're not quite talking about the ingredients for a festive feast, though - but rather, a holiday tipple.

From winter warmers to the classic egg nogg, we've rounded up three Christmas cocktail recipes to try this season.

Roe & Co Irish Coffee

What do you need?

  • 40ml Roe & Co Irish Whiskey
  • 120ml coffee
  • 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
  • Fresh cream

How do you make it?

  1. To make, stir the whiskey, brown sugar and coffee in a heated glass.
  2. Layer with fresh cream and garnish with a sprinkle of ground coffee or a few coffee beans.

Ketel One Eggnogg

The festive take on the classic Christmas cocktail makes it the perfect tipple for the holiday season.

What do you need?

  • 40ml chai tea infused Ketel One Vodka (infuse 2 chai tea bags for 30 minutes)
  • 10ml orange liqueur
  • 1 whole egg
  • 20ml condensed milk

How do you make it?

  1. Add ingredients together and shake hard.
  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail martini glass and garnish with a sprinkle of grated nutmeg and a stick of cinnamon.

Roe & Cosy

This cosy winter warmer puts a new twist on the standard Christmas hot toddy. With star anise, cinnamon sticks and fresh Irish honey to enhance the flavours, it couldn't be easier to make.

What do you need?

  • 40ml winter spiced infused Roe & Co Irish Whiskey
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 150ml boiling water

How do you make it?

  1. Infuse 2 earl grey tea bags, 2 sticks of cinnamon, 4 cloves and 2 star anise in a bottle of Roe & Co whiskey for around 30 minutes.
  2.  Serve in a heated glass cup with a teaspoon of honey.
  3. Add boiling water to bring out the spiced flavours.
  4. Garnish with a clove studded lemon wheel and star anise.
