Donuts and Beer: The bizarre combination coming to Irish outlets this week

Orlaith Condon

Thank the heavens – our two favourite things are coming together to create one tasty treat.

The folks at Cork’s Franciscan Well and Dublin’s Aungier Danger have put their heads together and come up with a masterfully crafted donut and beer combination, and we’re very excited about it.

Calling it an ‘explosive flavour combination’, Franciscan Well and Aungier Danger have developed two uniquely flavoured donuts to pair with a cool beer, and they sound very interesting.

First up we have Rebel Red, combining the salty sweet flavour with a burst of raspberry. And the second is Chieftan IPA which combines a tropical fruity sweetness with smokey bacon and blueberry flavours.

And luckily for you, the two tasty donuts will be made available during an exclusive sampling campaign in over 50 selected outlets in Dublin and Leinster from May 5 – but get them quick, it’s only for a limited period.

“We couldn’t be more excited about working with Aungier Danger on this partnership,” said Franciscan Well’s Innovation Specialist Des McCann.

“As two of Ireland’s most innovative food and drink brands, it makes sense to join forces, giving the people what they want in this unique collaboration.

“Combining our award-winning beers with the best donuts in Ireland is something we have been working on for months and we’re delighted to bring this exclusive range to the public over the next number of weeks.”
