There is something about a Bank Holiday weekend that lends itself to a glass of bubbly.
Ordinarily for us, that means prosecco or Cava.
However, if you’re looking to get your fancy on and you feel that you’re in more of an upmarket kinda place right now – Lidl has a bottle of champagne on offer for an outrageously good value €12.50.
That’s half Comte de Senneval‘s usual price – and cheaper than a lot of bottles of prosecco.
In the interests of research and in order to promote the highest editorial standards, on behalf of our Her community we sampled the wine today (we’re good like that).
And we can confirm that it is completely delicious! Plenty of bubbles, with nice tangy, apple flavours.
Be warned: the champagne is half price today and tomorrow (Saturday and Sunday) only… and when we went on our recce earlier demand was certainly high.
