Gather the gals because the perfect drinks event is coming to Dublin.

We always thought our parents were full of it when they told us that we were “still too young” to like whatever fancy drink they were enjoying. Obviously they just had bad taste, right? Well, loath as we are to admit it, turns out they may have been right.

Over the last while, we have started to develop a more refined palette for our evening beverages. Gone are the days of settling for cheap cider and scouring the off-licence for the wine with the lowest price. We’ve finally learned to appreciate a good drink and now we’ve found the perfect event to introduce some new favourite tipples to add to our personal menu (hurrah!).

Dublin Drinks Mixer is coming to the National Convention Centre this April 17 and 18 and is already looking to be one of our favourite drink events of the year (so make sure to nab those tickets before they sell out). Brought to you by the organisers of Whiskey Live Dublin and Gin Experience Dublin, Dublin Drinks Mixer will play host to over 80 different drink producers from Ireland and across the world. Think Teeling Whiskey, Diageo, Glendalough Distillery, the Shed Distillery, Aperol, Dingle Distillery, and oodles more.

Expect the best from a huge range of products. There will be gins and liqueurs, rums and mezcals, craft beer and vermouth, you name it. We’re telling you, there will be no shortage of quality drinks to taste.

A good drink isn’t complete without some scrumptious food to pair alongside it though, so there will also be an abundance of top-quality dishes to perfectly complement whatever you’re sipping on. Your tastebuds will not know what hit them.

For all you coffee-lovers out there, coffee is set to play a big part in Dublin Drinks Mixer 2020. There will be a demonstration bar dedicated solely to Irish Coffee where you can learn how to perfect the famous drink. Just the thing for those chilly Irish days.

Aside from simply treating your tastebuds, you’ll be able to take part in some innovative masterclasses or watch some interactive cocktail competitions (and sample the cocktails made, of course). These competitions will be judged by three industry experts, including Jack McGarry, the award-winning bartender and co-owner of the famous Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog in New York. Expert bartenders and mixologists will be encouraged to take part in the competitions so expect some innovative but delicious concoctions.

If all of that isn’t enough to tempt you, Dublin Drinks Mixer will be donating a minimum of €10 per ticket to their charity partner DEBRA Ireland, helping people who live with EB (Epidermolysis Bulllosa), a debilitating skin condition.

Tickets for the event are €40 and are available to buy now on the Dublin Drinks Mixer website. The ticket price includes free sample serves from all stands as well as food pairings. Now that’s what we’re talking about.
