Good news chicken lovers, KFC’ll be launching a ‘healthier’ menu

Jade Hayden

Ideal.

Is there anything better than a bargain bucket on the weekend?

No, is the answer to that – there isn’t.

Not yet anyway, but there might be somewhere in the future because everyone’s favourite (well, our favourite) fast food chicken restaurant has plans to introduce a healthier menu in the very near future.

And to be honest, as long as they’re still selling popcorn chicken and Zinger boxes we don’t really mind what they do.

The change is coming as the fast food chain try and reduce the amount of calories in their meals – and even consider introduce veggie options.

Stunning.

KFC has said they want to introduce healthier options that will allow people to eat their lunch and dinner at KFC for under 600 calories.

Victoria Robertson, the company’s head of food innovation, also said they want to start offering customers healthier snacks as sides, as opposed to the usual options of fries or, well, just more chicken really.

She said:

“We know people are more passionate than ever about eating well, and we face a big challenge in shifting their perceptions of what we offer. We’ve done it before.”

As of yet, there is no exact date on when KFC will be updating their menu to include healthier options, but the company has said they hope to remove 20 percent of their calories by 2025.

Fair play.
