Irish butchers selling ‘healthy’ sausages that are just 27 calories

Almost too good to be true.

Say what?

There’s nothing worse than being on a diet and waking up on a Saturday morning to the smell of a big dirty fry being cooked downstairs.

Sausages, rashers, pudding, hash browns – the scent alone is enough to make you want to ditch every single vegetable in your fridge and never buy a bag of lettuce again.

Now, we may not have to (though, maybe we still should anyway, just in case).

Irish butchers Whelan’s Gourmet Food have only gone and launched a 27 calorie sausage… and it sounds delicious.

The sausages are high in protein and are made with lean pork to keep down fat levels.

And seeing as they’re not even 30 calories, you could horse into about 10 of them before you put away as many calories as the regular pork sausage.

Madness.

As part of their healthy option range, Whelan’s are also selling low-cal black and white pudding too, with each portion coming in at about 30 calories.

The pudding is made with turkey meat and chickpeas, making it already sound far more delicious than your average stick of breakfast meat.

It’s just a shame that I’m vegetarian.

Whelan’s healthy sausages can be bought from a range of butchers and shops around the country, so you’ve no excuse not to switch up your weekend fry routine.
