Kitchen Crusade: How to make a White Claw slushie, because summer isn’t over yet

Jade Hayden

Happy summer, sort of.

August is well upon us, but you know what isn’t? The sun. She is missing, gone AWOL, nowhere to be found.

And yet, we solider on. We take our staycations, we have socially distant garden gatherings, we lie out the back desperately trying to get a tan despite there only being cloud above us.

If only there was a drink that could bring summer back to us. If only it was tasty and cool and easy to make. If only we had a handy cooking video to show us the light.

Well, now you do. Congrats. You’re welcome.

On this week’s Kitchen Crusade, I make a White Claw slushie. And spoilers, it actually works.

I made this beverage at approximately 11.25am on a Wednesday morning, so you can imagine how the rest of my working day went (pretty good, yeah).

Just kidding, I of course saved the slushie in the fridge to be enjoyed after I had finished my day’s work. And boy, did I enjoy it.

Anyway, here’s how to make it. Enjoy, yeah?

You’ll need:

  • 1 White Claw (flavour of your choice, I used natural lime)
  • 1 shot of rum
  • 1 cup mixed frozen berries
  • 2 cups ice

Method:

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender

2. Turn on blender

3. Blend for like, 10 seconds

4. Pour and enjoy

Oh, and drink responsibly, obviously.
