Looking to spice things up? This Galway restaurant has an aphrodisiac menu!

Yum!

Brought to you by the g Hotel.

Just when we thought we had run out of ideas for Valentine’s Day – along comes this!

It’s not just any old dinner menu, oh no. Celebrating the most romantic night of the year, the g Hotel has put together a five-course aphrodisiac menu with the help of their top chefs Jason O’ Neill and Andy Lewis.

The delectable menu includes quite the array of foods that are said to up our sex drive – either scientifically proven to do so, or based on myths and legends!

At Galway’s g Hotel, the award-winning Restaurant gigi’s came up with the superb idea to add some extra passion to any Valentine’s Day plans we might be arranging. It also coincides perfectly with their Valentine’s room rates too.

With the aphrodisiac menu, there’s oodles to choose from! – so you and your loved one will most definitely be VERY pleased.

Considered an aphrodisiac is lobster, lovage (also called love parsley), ginger, fennel, scallops, cherries (full of feel-good vitamins), arugula (the Greeks and Romans famously used this to enhance their libido), sea vegetables (filled with B vitamins that enhance hormone production), oysters (you know the deal), and mushrooms (great for our intake of zinc which increases blood flow) to name just a few.

They’ve thought of just about everything, even splitting the menu into two parts – one ‘For Her’ and one ‘For Him,’ based on which person these aphrodisiacs should benefit most. You can of course choose any dish but we appreciate their helpful hints.

For example, there’s amorous artichoke soup plus strawberry and champagne sorbet for her, while there are voluptuous pan seared scallops as well as wild mushrooms and red wine sourdough croutes for him.

We’ll take it all thank you! And while you love birds are there, devouring such yummy food, it’s most definitely worth your while heading to ESPA at the g Hotel too. Treat yourself to the most superb pampering session like a skin renewing facial (€95) or a muscle massage (€110) – the positive effects of which, you’ll feel for weeks after!

If looking for Valentine’s gifting inspiration, other superb options at the 5 star hotel include the Dinner & a Movie collaboration with the EYE Cinema just next door. You can enjoy a two-course dinner for two at Restaurant gigi’s, followed by a movie of your choice in the EYE (€68 for two).

And seeing as plenty of us can’t seem to get enough of gigi’s at the g Hotel, why not nab a Gourmet Gift which includes a three course dinner for two, that ranges in price from €72 to €110. The perfect treat!
