This new Temple Bar restaurant serves a mac and cheese grilled sambo and OMG delish

If you’re a cheese lover, then you’re going to adore this restaurant.

What was once a popular pop up has now been made permanent, and we’re absolutely delighted Meltdown is here to stay.

The funky cheesy restaurant now has a home on Curved Street in Temple Bar and there’s now even more to enjoy with extended opening hours and loads of new dishes.

And while the entire menu is jam-packed with gorgeous eats, we’re especially looking forward to eating the Mac Mama.

And what is the Mac Mama? Well, only the most delicious grilled cheese sambo you’ve ever come across.

Filled with macaroni and cheese, bacon, scallions and Monterey Jack cheese, it’s a total delight for any cheese lover.

Speaking about the new space, Meltdown owner Maeve O’Malley said: “I would like to see this space evolve and be used to its fullest potential, I want for it to become a space that inspires creativity and raises awareness of important issues in the city in an interesting way.

“The space is wonderful and unique in its city centre location – there is the beautiful outdoor area and then the fabulous Black Box, both with endless possibilities.”

Meltdown is open from 8am, 7 days, until 7pm Sunday through Wednesday and until 9pm Thursday to Saturday, with an on-street terrace, indoor seating and even a roof garden for al fresco dining.

If you fancy celebrating the new arrival, Meltdown is hosting a Secret Garden Party this Saturday July 21 from 3pm-11pm, and will be serving up crazy ice cream collabs, prosecco, bags of cans and Buckfast as well as three DJ sets on the day.

Tickets to The Secret Garden Party are €10 plus booking fee and are available HERE from Eventbrite.
