Oh my guac! A pop-up museum dedicated to avocados is coming

Keeley Ryan

It’s a celebration of all things avo.

Just when you may’ve thought our love for the stony fruit was starting to fade, another avocado-inspired venue is opening.

This time, though, it’s a little different.

A guac-centered museum is seen to open this summer, and it’s called The Cado.

The venue is made up of 16 shipping containers and will feature a total of seven rooms – each one exploring every aspect of the avocado, as well as its place in contemporary society.

According to Delish, every one of the rooms will have a different experience that is made to show off on social media.

Walkmans will be passed out to everyone as they come into the museum, which will go through the story of how avocados go from grove to grocer.

There’s also going to be one area – called The Ripe Room – that will have textured walls, showing you what an avocado that’s perfectly rip feels like.

Elsewhere in the museum is a 100-foot-long ombre hallway, inspired by the various colours of an avocado’s flesh.

At the gift shop, you’ll have the chance to pick up all of the avocado-packed foodstuffs, like avocado milk and cereal – as well as the usual gift shop fare, like t-shirts, bags and badges.

And there’s plenty of opportunities to try avocado-cantered snacks from the nearby eateries.

There’s a small catch, though, if you’re planning to head to The Cado.

The museum is only going to be opening in San Diego, and it’s only tipped to be open from June 16 through August.
