PIC: Tea Experts Reveal The Proper Way To Make The Perfect Cuppa
When it comes to tea, the spectrum of personal preference is extremely wide ranging.
Who could have imagined so many intricate combinations of a teabag, hot water and milk?
But whether you prefer your milk dropped like it's accidental, or a sup of tea with your cup of milk, it turns out there IS a right way to prepare the perfect cuppa.
According to experts Sebastian Michaelis (a Tetley tea blender who once had his tastebuds insured for £1m) and Postcard Teas owner Tim d'Offay, people who put the milk in before the hot water are just plain wrong.
Speaking to Time Out, they insist that milk before water means "you will reduce the water temperature and inhibit brewing," whereas you can "control the strength of the tea much more easily" by adding milk last.
