Recipe: Four cheese puff pastry twists that aren’t all that difficult to make – honestly

Jade Hayden

Fiddly? Yes. Difficult? No.

Cheese is good. Four cheese is better.

And four cheese is significantly better when you’ve got it wrapped up in a pastry, thrown into the oven, and puffed up to perfection.

In the past, we’ve brought you a fancy cheese jambon recipe. We’ve brought you a mozzarella and chilli puff pastry recipe.

We’ve probably brought you something else cheese and pastry related, but listen, that’s besides the point.

We’re coming at you today with another delicious pastry-based recipe that’s salty, tasty, and ensured to keep you satisfied for at least an hour or two: four cheese puff pastry twists.

You’ll need (makes 10 twists):

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 30g cheddar cheese (grated)
  • 30g blue cheese (cut into tiny pieces)
  • 30g brie (shaved)
  • 10g Parmesan (grated)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1tsp rosemary
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • Salt and pepper

Method:

1. Preheat your oven to 200c. In a bowl, mix the cheddar, brie, blue cheese, garlic, rosemary, and salt and pepper. Unroll the pastry sheet and brush with half of the beaten egg.

2. Spoon half of the cheese mix onto one half of the pastry and fold over. Brush with the remainder of the beaten egg and spoon the remaining cheese mix atop the pastry.

3. Cut into 10 equal long pieces and separate. Twist slightly before placing onto a baking tray lined with the baking paper.

4. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove and sprinkle Parmesan over the twists. Return to the oven to bake for a further five minutes. Remove and allow to cool before tucking in.
