The news wine drinkers really don’t want to hear

This cannot be happening.

Cathy Donohue

Noooooo.

Apparently, and this is the worst news to hear on a Monday, there’s a global wine shortage.

CNN reports that global wine production this year alone has fallen by 5%, with climate change the main factor.

Judging by this shortage, there will be a “huge drop in output” in South American wine regions, with both Chile and Argentina majorly affected.

Heavy rain has ensured a decline in both countries’ vineyards, which produce wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, and weather also impacted negatively on French and South African wine regions.

Apparently, this wine shortage is the worst since 2012 and to give you an idea of what happened that year, there was a shortfall of nearly 300 million cases of wine.

Gulp.
