Well, this will come in very useful.

The recent heatwave has been absolutely glorious but people have complained about one thing – how hard it is to get to sleep when it’s absolutely roasting.

Enter all the tips and tricks suggesting different ways and means of nodding off.

Although we’ve heard a number of them before, the latest one is food-related and it’s really rather interesting.

If you’re a person who might have breakfast for dinner, brinner if you will, you’ll be very intrigued indeed.

Nutritionist Sharon Natoli says that at eating eggs at dinnertime can help prepare your body for sleep.

Yes, we were taken aback too.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, she explained:

“Something as simple as eating eggs at dinnertime can be a natural sedative as egg whites help the body prepare for bedtime by producing melatonin – which brings on that sleepy feeling”.

Okaaaaay.

We can see the sense in it but having eggs for dinner isn’t exactly a common choice.

Sharon continued:

“They are also a rich source of the amino acid typtophan, which means that they help you to sleep better for longer by telling your brain to shut down for the night”.

We’re not sure if this idea will catch on but if it helps us to get to sleep quicker and for longer, it has to be worth a try.
