In Ireland we play it pretty safe when it comes to breakfast, it’ll either be a fry, a bowl of cereal or toast.

While every country is bound to have different meals in the morning, this one becoming increasingly popular in Australia has a lot of people baffled.

Galaxy recently surveyed Australians about their breakfast preferences and it yielded some bizarre results.

A huge number of participants said that savoury cereal was their go-to in the morning, more specifically cereal with vegetables mixed in.

This trend isn’t just something a few Aussies are trying out, over half a million of those surveyed said that they were partial to the strange concoction according to Independent.co.uk.

This means that people are adding cucumber, courgette and avocado to their porridge and many people said that they also add herbs and spices.

This is one trend we don’t see ourselves getting on board with any time soon!

The study also found that around two million Australians posted a photo of their breakfast on Instagram at least once a week.
