There’s a cheese theme park in South Korea and we’re going ASAP, tbh

Is the park edible, though..?

Look, everyone loves cheese and if you say you don’t love cheese you’re a liar.

It’s smooth, it’s creamy, it’s delicious, it makes any meal worth having and any life worth living.

Just a great thing to have in the world and in every sandwich, to be honest.

And for a long time now, we’ve been considering the best way to express just how strongly we feel about cheese.

First, we thought we’d just buy a load of the stuff and eat it and that would be enough.

Then, we considered a shrine to an array of different cheeses featuring everything from Brie to Gouda.

Then we thought nah, let’s just hit up the cheese theme park in South Korea, that ought to do it… because yes – it is a real place.

The cheese theme park is a lovely little spot in the Korean county of Imsil where tourists can go and learn all about Korean cheese production, milk processing, and a variety of cheese based experiences.

According to Visit Korea, the theme park is a nod to cheese production in the region and a way of remembering how it all began.

Their website reads that Imsil only started producing cheese in 1958.

“At that time, Imsil had no local speciality or unique colour of its own, which changed when Ji Jeong-hwan, a Belgian priest came to the region as a missionary.

“The governor of Imsil-gun asked the priest to work for the community, not just for Catholics in Imsil. After much thought, he decided to make cheese.

In the beginning, he made cheese with goat’s milk. Imsil’s reputation as a cheese village, which began with just two goats, is now blooming with the establishment of Imsil Cheese Theme Park.”

Beautiful.

The theme park is a mere 32 acres – but that’s 32 acres of learning about cheese and eating cheese and making cheese so, you know, plenty to do.

The park was first opened over a decade ago too so the Imsil park is clearly a hit with tourists from all around the place.

We’re not at all surprised.

So, any cheap flights on tick, or?
