There’s a gin festival happening in Cork next month and we are THERE

Now that the Good Friday alcohol ban has been lifted, Cork is turning it into Great Friday this year.

Over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend, the iconic Cork Cricket Club will become the headquarters for the inaugural ‘Spirit Of The City’ Festival.

Festival organiser Kevin Collins of the festival has said that he wants to create a festival designed to celebrate the renewal of the economy in Cork, and the positivity felt by many of the local merchants who will use this opportunity to showcase their gins, beers, food and more.

Collins announced: “Festival-goers can expect to see the top live acts including the UV5, The Amazing Apples, as well as singer-songwriter Roy Buckley and much much more.

“With several of Cork’s top favourite street food vendors on site also, the event promises to whet all appetites as Local Chef Bryan McCarthy will be cooking up a Brunch each morning.

“We are expecting an influx of people to Cork this Easter week where guests can sample a host of local and internationally recognised Gins in our Victorian-style beer hall with lots of unique decor, wooden casks, long benches and tables where table service will be provided throughout to truly enhance the experience.”

Running from Friday 30 March to Sunday 1 April, tickets and bookings to the Spirit Of The City Festival can be purchased here, and for more information and details of the festival itself, you can head to their official Facebook page here.
