There’s a new vegan burger place in Dublin and the menu looks delicious

Cassie Stokes

One of Ireland’s favourite vegan burger places now has a permanent home in Dublin 7.

If you are a fan of a vegan burger then you will be familiar with V-Face, one of Dublin’s most delicious vegan pop up restaurants.

You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this burger, it tastes just as good as a meat burger but it’s all plant.

They have set up shop permanently in a cute little spot on North Brunswick Street, Stoneybatter, Dublin 7. Anyone who knows Stoneybatter will know that it is home to some of the coolest spots to eat and drink.

It is best described as “lethal burgers without the killing. It’s all of the ‘durt’, none of the hurt, all of the cheat, none of the meat.”

V-Face started up in The Belfry, Stoneybatter in 2018 and made a few appearances in various places and events around the city with their pop-up. All their ingredients are locally sourced which is why they’ve been such a hit.

Owner Sarah Boland found the location last year and opened up its doors mid pandemic for collection and delivery. It officially opened to the public on Saturday 25 July. Sarah says: “It’s been a lot busier than I expected, especially opening when we did. We had to turn people away on our first night, it was so busy.”

Not only is the food delicious but V-Face is sustainable too. “Some of our packaging, like for example the sauce containers may appear plastic, but they’re not. They are made from PLA which is a compostable material so straight into the compost bin with them.”

Here’s a look at some of the items on the menu:

Hot Chick V-Burg is a sweet spud and chickpea patty with rocket, coriander, pepper jack cheese, mashed avo, nachos, mayo and sriracha. Served on a charcoal bun.

Magic Mushie V-Burg is a battered portobello mushroom with spinach, gouda cheese and garlic mayo. Served on a seeded bun.

Honestly, gimme.
