Despite all efforts to be good and healthy, it’s fair to say we all blatantly desire a 3-in-1 or a big filthy rotten spice bag most of the time.
It’s also fair to say that years of loyalty to our local takeaways has led us to place them on a pedestal, and praise them as the greatest thing since sliced bread. It’s hard to be impartial when you’re being fed spring rolls and chicken balls but thankfully the good people over at Just Eat have ranked all of Ireland’s takeaways and definitively awarded them.
At the Just Eat National Takeaway Awards, 18 restaurants were honoured in 20 categories.
National treasures like Boojum and Chopped of course received awards while more regional gems like Sunflower also picked up an accolade.
The definitive prize for the greatest takeaway in the entire land went to Ly Garden in Tallaght.
Indian topped the polls as Irelands favourite dish with a Tikka Masala being crowned the overall winner.
