This hash brown breakfast bake is the perfect Bank Holiday cure

Did you wake up ravenous?

Sometimes, particularly after a night on the tiles, a bowl of cereal or a boiled egg and toast simply will not cut it.

Only a very carefully assembled combination of carbs, protein and gooey, melty cheese will do the trick. And boy do we have your back this time.

This recipe by US food blogger PlainChicken is everything you could want in a bold brunch. It’s also a cinch to put together and it feeds a crowd so it’s the ideal morning after meal.

You may need to nip to the shop for ingredients (a hoodie and dark sunnies will get your through) but it’ll be worth it when your back on the couch in your onesie with a giant bowl of delicious crunchy, creamy goodness to devour in front of Gilmore Girls.

Ingredients

1 bag frozen hash browns 
1lb cooked diced ham
2 cans condensed cream of potato soup
1 container sour cream
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
2 cups grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, mix together sliced hash browns, ham, cream of potato soup, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. Spread into prepared pan. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Bake for 1 hour, or until bubbly and lightly brown.
