This prosecco festival is speaking to our inner basic bitch on a spiritual level

Booking a girly trip?

We are basic and we are proud.

Much as we’d like to be cool and only drink craft beer and watch indie films, it’s just not who we are.

If, like us, you’re an unabashed fan of reality TV and think a boomerang of glasses clinking on a night out is worthwhile Instagram content, you’ll probably be very excited at the idea of a prosecco festival.

An entire three-day event dedicated to the most basic and most delicious drink there is is happening next month in London.

Prosecco Springs will take over the Oval Space in East London from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 May.

If you’re idea of heaven is soaking in the sunshine, listening to music with a glass of bubbles in your hand, this will be right up your street.

It’ll see producers from Italy heading over for tastings, masterclasses and a special Prosecco pop-up shop.

If that weren’t enough festival-goers will also be treated to a live band and loads of street food options, which will come in handy when you’re in need of some soakage.

The whole thing looks pretty Instagram-friendly too, which is never a bad thing.

Tickets are £40 a head (around €46) for a five-hour session.

That may seem a little steep but that does include eight sample glasses of prosecco – enough to get you pretty merry.

This works out at £5 per drink, which is as cheap as you’ll get a glass of bubbles anywhere in central London.

Sounds like a perfect reason to book a trip to London with the gang next month.
