Three rum based cocktail ideas to try this weekend for National Rum Day

The pineapple one sounds delish.

With National Rum Day just round the corner (this Sunday August 16) what better way to celebrate than with a nice cocktail?

Renegade rum brand, Dead Man’s Fingers, which comes in everything from spiced to pineapple flavor, has shared some tips with us on how to put together some fabulous cocktails this weekend.

Dead Man’s Fingers Spiced Rum Mojito

Add 2 parts Dead Man’s Fingers Spiced Rum, 1 part lime juice,1 part sugar syrup (or 1-2 teaspoons of sugar melted in hot water and cooled) to your glass.

Gently bruise 6-8 mint leaves between your palms, add, mix well, top with a splash of soda water and throw in some crushed ice.

Dead Man’s Fingers Pineapple Daiquiri

Mix 2 parts Dead Man’s Fingers Pineapple rum, 1 part lime juice, 1 part sugar syrup (pour boiling water onto sugar and stir till clear, use when cool)

Dead Man’s Fingers Pineapple Rum Spritz

• 50ml Pineapple DMF
• Add ice
• Top up with 150ml Lemonade
• Garnish with lemonade, mint and lime
