We’ve been eyeing up this battered Creme Egg ever since we saw it this morning

Olivia Hayes

We’ve all heard of battered Mars bars.

And while they may be the most moreish, indulgent and calorific sweet treat out there, there’s no denying that we’ll scoff our faces with one if we ever get the chance.

Yes, your heart rate might spike and you’ll probably feel full (and/or ill) for days but sure those few minutes of eating one are pure luxury.

As you can see, our feelings for battered Mars bars are quite strong, so when we came across a battered Creme Egg on Ladbible earlier, it’s safe to say we were intrigued.

A chip shop in Birmingham is selling the battered-covered eggs for £1 and the owner, Royston Spencer, says that everyone loves them.

“Other chip shops have been doing them for a while, so we thought we would give them a go. Everyone who has tried them has loved them.”

He added that he whips them out every Easter. “Yes, every Easter time, just like every Christmas time when we do battered mince pies.”

Now, battered mince pies we’re not too sure of, but sure each to their own and all that.
