Five hilarious realities EVERY smoker can relate to when quitting

Her

What about those people who only smoke at weekends?

It’s probably hard to imagine ever giving up smoking, especially, with a glass of wine on a Friday night. What harm is a couple of ciggies after a long week in work? It’s not like you still smoke, it’s just that you have to have a cigarette when you have wine, that’s just how it is.

Most people try to quit smoking a few times before successfully giving it the boot. You probably find yourself regularly having conversations with yourself, constantly justifying that one ciagerette when you’ve supposedly quit. Saying no is hard and any smoker attempting to go cold turkey knows these truths only too well.

1. While skimming through a book on how to quit smoking, you’re fantasising about smoking the book. No word of a lie, a book has never looked so desirable.

2. Giving up smoking is the easiest thing in the world. You should know because you’ve tried it so many times.

3. Your smoking buddies notoriously try to tempt you back to the dark side, not thinking twice about the fact you’ve quit (again!). Pandora couldn’t take anymore temptation and neither can you. There’s just no support.

4. That glass of wine just doesn’t taste the same and the idea of cutting down to social smoking has never seemed more appealing. But look how far you’ve come.

5. After a few days you find yourself reaching for the doughnuts in work but don’t worry, this won’t last forever. Give in (in moderations) because cravings are part of the process but you can look for healthier alternatives at a later date. No one’s perfect.

Have you read this entire list and now feel like you deserve a ciggie as a reward? Forget it, that’s the addiction talking.
