The four-ingredient delicious mint smoothie I can't live without
Green smoothies are a must for the fit fam but I have a recipe that will stand out from the ten million other ones on Insta.
They seem to have almost become another one of those celebrity props, along with yoga mats and huge sunglasses – but hold onto your tiny dog, I have the perfect recipe for a green smoothie – with a twist- that will set you up for a calm start to the day…and maybe have you feeling just a little bit smug.

The recipe serves one (quite generously!)
You will need:
- 4-5 leaves of fresh mint (or more depending on preference)
- A generous handful of spinach
- 1 frozen banana (you could just use a fresh one, but frozen makes the smoothie lovely and cold and extra refreshing)
- 400ml unsweetened almond milk (I’d recommend using unsweetened over sweetened here as the smoothie turns out too sickly if you use sweetened.)
Just blend and enjoy! This is a perfect one to have at home or on the go, if you’re one to have breakfast al desco.
There are plenty of nutritional benefits in the ingredients in this smoothie, such as an iron boost from the spinach - an important one if you’re vegan/vegetarian - and the potassium from the banana is a key electrolyte for things like nerve function, moving nutrients into cells and regulating your heartbeat.
Bananas also contain B6 which is necessary for balanced hormones….but most importantly, they add a lovely sweetness and if you’re anything like me and could conform to a Buddy the Elf style diet, this is paramount to your happiness.
The star ingredient, however, is the beautiful fresh mint. Mint is great for aiding digestion and is also a natural stimulant, giving you plenty of energy for the day ahead.
So keep calm in the morning and start your day with this green mint smoothie. Our body is a temple after all *until 6 pm when the sugar cravings hit and copious Hobnobs are devoured. What can we say? We tried.
