A Catholic speed dating event is taking place before the Pope’s visit

Fancy finding some love?

Now, do you fancy finding some Catholic love? If your answer is yes then we have the event just for you.

Ahead of the Pope’s visit, a Catholic Speed Dating is taking place tonight at the Horse Show House, beside the RDS where the World Meeting of Families is being held.

It’ll cost €30 to find love tonight though if you book online, or €35 at the door. It’s being held by the Denver Catholic Speed Dating, who is apparently responsible for 30 marriages since 2011.

Anna Maria Basquez, who set up the events said:

“Love can’t be measured by a formula, so people should always give each other at least two dates to get to know one another.

“It’s all based on giving someone a chance. If we use too many existing character traits put together by a machine or an organisation to measure each other by, we can miss the mark.

“If we size people up before even meeting, we are taking ourselves out of God’s path toward someone,” she said.

“Love is a choice. If you want to keep God working with you and working for you, you make that choice to honour the virtue of fidelity.”
